ADHD Treatment

If you’ve ever described yourself as “scattered,” “bad with time,” or “constantly distracted,” there’s a chance something deeper might be going on.

You might have trouble starting things. Or finishing them. Or remembering where you put your keys (again). Maybe your mind jumps around faster than you can catch up, or you’ve been told your whole life to “just focus” — as if it’s that simple.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not lazy. You’re not broken. And you’re not alone.

You may have ADHD — and the good news is, there’s treatment that can actually help.

What ADHD Feels Like (Especially in Adults)

ADHD isn’t just a childhood thing — and it doesn’t always look like hyperactivity. In adults, it often shows up as:

  • Trouble staying organized or on task
  • Time blindness — losing track of minutes, hours, or days
  • Procrastination that turns into paralysis
  • Forgetfulness, even with important stuff
  • Constant mental noise, jumping from one thing to another
  • Getting overwhelmed easily — or under-stimulated just as fast
  • Feeling like you’re always behind, even when you’re trying your best

If you’ve spent years beating yourself up for not being able to “just focus,” ADHD treatment can offer real relief — and a new way forward.

How Dr. Adam Cotsen Approach ADHD Treatment

How I Approach ADHD Treatment

No lectures. No shame. No assumptions.

My job is to help you understand how your brain works — and how to work with it instead of against it.

ADHD treatment might include therapy, coaching-style tools, structure-building, or in some cases, psychiatric medication that supports focus, calm, and follow-through. If we decide medication is part of the plan, I’ll prescribe and monitor it with care — always based on how you respond, not a one-size-fits-all formula.

Therapy Meets Real Life

In our sessions, we’ll talk about what actually matters to you. Managing time. Building systems. Following through. Dealing with shame or burnout from years of struggling in silence.

I’ll help you identify patterns, create new ones, and better understand how your mind operates — not to change who you are, but to help you function more freely as yourself.

You’ll walk away with both insight and practical tools. We’ll aim for small, sustainable changes — not perfection.

Is It Really ADHD? Or Just Life?

Is It Really ADHD? Or Just Life?

Many people don’t realize they have ADHD until adulthood. Some have been misdiagnosed. Others were just labeled “disorganized” or “underachieving” or “too sensitive” growing up.

A proper evaluation can help us figure out what’s going on. If ADHD is part of the picture, we can treat it. If it’s something else, we’ll look at that too.

Either way, the goal is understanding — not judgment.

You're Not Failing. Your System Is Just Different.

ADHD can make the basics feel like uphill battles. But with the right support, you can learn to work with your mind — and stop treating it like a problem to be fixed.

If you’re tired of feeling scattered, overwhelmed, or like you’re always behind, let’s talk.

There’s a way to feel more focused, more steady, and more in control.
And you don’t have to figure it out alone.
